Grosvenor Asia Pacific, the regional operating company of Grosvenor Group, one of the largest privately-owned international property groups, announced today that two Grosvenor properties in Tokyo, Grosvenor Place Kamizono-Cho and The Belgravia Azabu, have been awarded DBJ (Development Bank of Japan) Green Building Certification.

The DBJ Green Building Certification process evaluates and certifies properties based on factors ranging from environmental features to communication with stakeholders, such as disaster prevention, and proper care for surrounding communities.

Grosvenor Place Kamizono-Cho received a five star rating (the best class in Japan) based on its environmental impact reduction and building amenities. Its features include energy efficient design, solar shading to limit excessive heat from the sun, and a generous provision for daylight.  Public spaces and gardens are large. Indoors  tenants enjoy natural wood interiors, open kitchens and great views.

The Belgravia Azabu received a four star (exceptionally high) rating based on its building amenities and partnership with stakeholders.  Soundproofed floors and walls, high ceilings, and open spaces without columns are well recognized. The building is well-managed and has a long-term repair plan with property and building managers.

The DBJ Green Building Certification is conducted by the Japan Real Estate Institute, the largest real estate appraisal and consulting organization in Japan. The certification serves as a key indicator of ESG performance, how companies are proactively tackling ESG issues and adopting sustainable development goals.
