Historic London Ice Factory Becomes Home to Creative Enterprise
New creative space extends offer at popular Eccleston Yards, SW1
A former five storey ice factory is being launched to the market by Grosvenor Britain & Ireland as a new destination for creative enterprise.
27 Eccleston Place, now known as the Ice Factory, was built in 1830 for Shingleton’s Ice Company Ltd. In its near 200-year history it has been adapted as a coachworks, power station and motor repair centre.
The Buckley Grey Yeoman designed building will reflect its industrial heritage while offering 28,923 sq ft retail, office and the only roof top restaurant space in the area. A single occupier is being sought who can deliver all elements the space offers from food and beverage through to retail and work/maker space, building on Eccleston Yard’s reputation as a dynamic creative hub.
Ice Factory sits on the Victoria/Belgravia border offering immediate access to transport hubs and a large office and residential catchment area. It benefits from the popular retail, food and well-being offer in nearby Elizabeth Street as well as Grosvenor’s award-winning development at Eccleston Yards, home to Barry’s Bootcamp, Wild by Tart and Re:Mind, to which it has direct pedestrian access.
Charles Howard, Director of Offices, Grosvenor Britain & Ireland said: "Ice Factory is a hugely versatile space packed with the kind of character and heritage that’s hard to find in the core of the West End. It’s the perfect base for a single occupier looking for an inspiring space and wider neighbourhood offer that will attract talent and customers and we are already receiving offers of interest."
Consistent with Grosvenor Britain & Ireland’s sustainability goals, the office element of the proposals is working to achieve BREEAM ‘Excellent’ and the retail to ‘Very Good’.
