The Grosvenor Estate appoints Ian Mair as Group Services Director
The Grosvenor Estate has appointed Ian Mair to the newly created position of Group Services Director. Ian will take on the role from 1 October in preparation for its full remit becoming effective on 1 January 2022, when the Grosvenor Estate’s previously announced management and governance changes will also be taking effect.
As Group Services Director, Ian will be responsible for ensuring that Grosvenor’s Group-wide specialist functions, including Technology, Digital Innovation, CoSec, Health & Safety and Group People and Reward Teams are effective and efficient. He will be responsible for driving service delivery, innovation, and collaboration, promoting best practice across the organisation.
Ian has been with Grosvenor Group, our international urban property business, since 2012, holding the positions of Commercial Finance Director in Grosvenor Britain & Ireland and both Regional Finance Director and Chief Operating Officer in Grosvenor Asia Pacific. Most recently, Ian spearheaded Grosvenor Group’s digital innovation unit. As part of his new role, Ian will continue to be responsible for Grosvenor’s digital innovation activities, supported by Craig O’Donnell, Group Innovation Director.
Commenting on the appointment, Mark Preston, Executive Trustee, Grosvenor Estate, said:
“Ian’s exposure to different parts of the organisation, the expertise that comes from his significant experience in several financial disciplines and a track record of enabling business transformation with us and in other businesses, mean that he is ideally suited to such a diverse role. I look forward to working with him even more closely as we work to evolve the Grosvenor Estate to ensure it better delivers lasting commercial and social benefit in the 2020s and beyond.”
In taking up the role, Ian will join the Group Executive Committee (GEC) which will be expanded from January 2022 to represent all parts of the Grosvenor Estate: our international urban property activity, investment in food and agriculture, rural estate management and philanthropic activities.
