Ian Mair

I am responsible for Grosvenor’s property investments in Asia and I oversee functions within the Group Team that provide shared services, centres of excellence, and advice to the commercial and non-commercial businesses of Grosvenor.

Ian joined Grosvenor in March 2012 and is a member of the Group Executive, responsible for Grosvenor’s directly invested assets in Asia as well as specialist functions within the Group Team that support Grosvenor’s international activities. In addition, Ian is a Non-Executive Director of the Grosvenor Hart Homes Board.

Ian has held many varied roles across Grosvenor joining initially as Commercial Finance Director for the Great Britain and Ireland business, implementing several change initiatives, before moving to Hong Kong as Regional Finance Director and Chief Operating Officer for Grosvenor Asia Pacific. He returned to the UK in July 2019 to take up the new role of Managing Director Digital Innovation, having a wide remit to set up and implement innovations across the Grosvenor Group. Ian took up his current role as Group Services Director in October 2021 which includes the overview of Digital Innovation, Group Technology, Group People and Reward, Health and Safety and UK Company Secretarial. 

Prior to Grosvenor, Ian spent nearly 12 years in Finance at Tesco both in the UK and China in and was latterly the Property Finance Director for Tesco UK.

Ian is an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants as well as holding a BSc in Pharmacology and a PhD in Molecular Neurobiology both gained at the University of Dundee.
