1500 K: restoring one of Washington, D.C’s most iconic office buildings
1500 K is a historical designated office and retail building
Located one block from the White House, 1500 K has been a historic fixture in Washington, D.C. since 1928. In 2017 we completely renovated this historical designated office and retail building while preserving and revitalising its heritage architecture.
Our investment in sustainable practices and technologies have dramatically improved the economic and environmental efficiency of the building, and will pay for themselves within seven years. Water saving fixtures have been installed in all bathrooms and features such as LED lighting, smart destination elevators and the latest air conditioning and heating system have all contributed to reducing electricity consumption by 35%.
A new rooftop lounge, spa-inspired fitness centre, renovated lobbies, and the introduction of new ground floor retailers have helped restore 1500 K as one of the most popular office blocks in the city. Since the renovation, tenancy rates have almost doubled from 48% to 92%, maximising the use of the space and boosting profitability.
