Bringing much needed housing to Metro Vancouver
We are adding a mix of new housing, retail and transformative community amenities to Brentwood, Burnaby – one of Metro Vancouver’s fastest growing neighbourhoods – with the acquisition of a full city-block, 7.9-acre site on transit.
Our plans include a diverse mix of uses including market and affordable rental apartments, condominiums, retail with potential for office space. The scale and size of the project will enable Grosvenor to make a significant contribution to our net-zero commitment, bring our well-established expertise in placemaking in urban areas to the Brentwood community, and deliver on our objective to have a meaningful, positive social impact on the communities where we develop.
In June 2020, we decided to launch two new weekly outdoor activities as part of our Brentwood Community Days series. The series includes the Brentwood Artisan Farmers' Market on Sundays, featuring local vendors who make, bake, grow and forage. Meanwhile, the Brentwood Great Takeout Food Truck Festival takes place every Saturday until early Fall. We have partnered with two organisations to host these free events for the community while we develop our plans for the site.
Furthermore, we commissioned artist, Drew Young, to paint a 4,000 sq ft mural (pictured above) as part of our commitment to making public art more accessible to the broader community, and to demonstrate that there are more exciting things to come.
