Mount Street Neighbourhood Arts Festival Launched in Mayfair

As part of its commitment to continued, active management of its places, Grosvenor’s UK Property business has launched the inaugural Mount Street Neighbourhood Arts Festival. This new week-long activation is designed to inject one of London’s most prominent luxury retail destinations with creative energy through a celebration of its businesses and an experiential arts programme

Running from 7-12 October, the festival will host a series of pop-up events with exciting guest partners, such as A Vibe Called Tech and Sarabande Foundation’s House of Bandits.

Joanna Lea, Retail Director, Grosvenor commented: We’re continuing to support physical retail in London and bringing a sense of discovery to Mount Street’s unique mix of fashion, interiors, food and art businesses. We have created a programme of cultural conversations and events that we hope will inspire customers and initiate new connections for our community.”

In addition to its famed retail occupiers, the Mount Street neighborhood is home to a diverse mix of exceptional food and beverage operators, including The Connaught Hotel, Scott’s and the Farm Shop. Visitors to the festival will be offered a uniquely designed passport, including a specially commissioned map of the area by artist Sainte Maria, which acts as a guide to the neighbourhood and unlocks various incentives from the likes of Farm Shop, ErdemDr. Barbara Sturm, Marni and Maison Sisley.

Running throughout the week of the Mount Street Neighbourhood Arts Festival is an exclusive pop-up iteration of Sarabande Foundation’s House of Bandits at 5 Carlos Place which will include a diverse lineup of artists across fashion, jewellery, photography, painting and sculpture.

Each morning during Charlene Prempeh and Lewis Dalton Gilbert of A Vibe Called Tech, a creative studio and arts consultancy whose clients include Aesop, Gucci and Frieze, will host a live in conversation video series titled “Did I Tell You?” at various locations in the neighbourhood. Teaming up with key residents, guest artists and creatives, Prempeh and Dalton Gilbert will engage participants and audiences in lively discussions around art, culture and community.

The Mount Street Neighbourhood Arts Festival coincides with the launch of a new Mount Street Neighbourhood campaign, ‘Meet the Neighbours’ shot by photographer Trisha Ward. This ongoing series captures characters from the Mount Street Neighbourhood with the first iteration including Farm Shop’s butcher, Harvey Baker, The Connaught’s head doorman, Carl Holness and Marni’s store manager, Kimpal Patel. The shoot includes imagery showcasing the unique historical and community spaces in the area, such as Mount Street Gardens, Mount Street Library and Farm Street Church.
