Group Director, Health and Safety
I am responsible for providing strategic and tactical health, safety and related risk advice and support to Grosvenor.
James Preston-Hood is Grosvenor’s Health and Safety Director and is responsible for providing strategic and tactical health, safety and related risk advice and support to Grosvenor. He joined Grosvenor in 2002.
James previously worked for Arup as a health and safety consultant, specialising in construction health and safety. He also worked for the UK’s Health and Safety Executive (HSE) as an Inspector.
James has previously been a Trustee for a charity Farms for City Children and has been a Non-Executive Trustee for Lantra, the land based Sector Skills Council, served as a Board director for the Construction Clients Group (CCG), acted as Chairman of CCG’s Health and Safety Group, was Clients’ Representative to the HSE’s Construction Industry Advisory Committee (CONIAC) and has served as an Employers’ representative on the Industrial Injuries Advisory Council (IIAC).
James holds a Master of Business Administration (Warwick University) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Health and Safety (Aston University). He also holds an HND in Agricultural Management Technology (Seale Hayne) and an OND in Countryside Management (Merrist Wood). James is a Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and also is a member of the British Property Federation’s Building Safety Sound Board.
