Monty Bayer

Managing Partner

The linkage between soil health, food quality, and sustainability is critical in the value chains of the future. My main focus is aligning technologies and business models to deliver these components of the future food chain.

Prior to joining Grosvenor Food & AgTech (formerly known as Wheatsheaf Group), Monty spent more than 17 years with Dow AgroSciences in many commercial capacities in both North America and Asia. He also served as Corporate Vice President for The Dow Chemical Company and was responsible for venture investing, business development, and technology licensing.

Monty also served as President and CEO of Actagro, a soil and plant health specialty inputs business, for over six years. He successfully grew the business globally and led the business through a sale process to a strategic buyer in the Spring of 2019.

Monty holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alberta and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Queen’s University in Canada.
