Vestaron develops next generation crop protection products from peptides – naturally occurring proteins – delivering selective, effective biological control of pests for use on high-value field crops including fruits, vegetables and nuts.
Crop protection is a vital part of global agricultural production and is responsible for approximately 40% of yields.
Unlike traditional synthetic products, Vestaron’s do not affect bees or other beneficial insects. It was the first US company to receive the European Bee Award for outstanding and innovative projects aimed at protecting bees and preserving biodiversity.
After use, Vestaron’s products break down into beneficial amino acids which are harmless to the environment, fish and mammals, helping to reduce pollution.
Vestaron is also able to develop peptides which have the effectiveness of synthetics at a fraction of the cost and time to produce.
Vestaron’s products are in use across America, Mexico and Canada, available through a growing number of leading distributors.
In response to devastating infestations of tomato leafminer in 2024 its bioinsecticide SPEAR® LEP was authorised for emergency use in Italy, Greece and Cyprus, protecting farmers and growers from significant and costly yield losses.
