Application for Rent Payment Plan for Washington, D.C. Retail Tenants

Application process

The Washington, D.C. City Council passed the Coronavirus Omnibus Emergency Amendment Act of 2020 (the “Act”), which permits eligible tenants directly or indirectly financially impacted by COVID-19 to apply for a rent payment plan with the Landlord.  The Act defines “eligible tenant” as a tenant for commercial retail property that has notified the Landlord of an inability to pay all or a portion of the rent due to the public health emergency, subject to certain exceptions set forth in the Act.  As such, we are providing this notice to advise our tenants of the availability of the application for a rent repayment plan at Grosvenor.com or by calling (202) 293-1235.

Each application will be reviewed for eligibility in accordance with standards set by the Landlord in compliance with the legislation.  Within thirty (30) days of receipt of a complete application, we will contact the eligible retail tenant to advise of acceptance or rejection of the application.  If a retail tenant’s application is accepted, the parties will then negotiate a written rent payment plan to be agreed upon and executed by both parties.  Please note, the acceptance of an application does not mean the that parties will ultimately enter into a rent payment plan.
