Grosvenor Europe secures two new restaurant tenants for Lidingö Centrum, Stockholm

Grosvenor Europe has secured two new restaurant signings for the revitalised city library building at Lidingö Centrum, Stockholm. All day eatery, Bibliothék, from the founders of Urban Deli, will open in 2022 and fast growing gourmet burger chain Bröderna will launch this autumn.

Lidingö is an island in the East of the Swedish captial, in the Stockholm archepelego. Grosvenor Europe, which owns and manages Lidingö Centrum, is redeveloping part of the centre to strengthen the asset’s role as the core meeting place for the island’s residents. The establishment of the new restaurants in the former city library building, which will also benefit from an outdoor terrace area, forms a key part of this plan.

Carl Strufve, Director Nordics, Grosvenor Europe, comments: “The investment in strengthening the restaurant offering is a very important part of the development work of the centre and  for our ambition to make the terrace a living meeting place. When we add two new high-quality restaurants to the range, we will have an even more vibrant centre for much of the day.”

Bibliothék has taken a 407sqm unit with a 180 sqm outdoor terrace, with an entrance directly onto the Town Hall Park. Direct access to the restaurant will also be available from a new co-working space that will open in the building.

Bibliothék is backed by some well-known restaurateurs. Co-founders, Jesper Konstantinov and Anna Ungh previously launched popular chain Urban Deli, while Fredrik Ander is former head chef at Proviant and a member of Bocuse d'Or Team Sweden. The fourth founder, and CEO, Fredrik Vogel, is known for running the Carlsberg and Brooklyn Brewery eatery, Nya Carnegiebryggeriet.

Jesper Konstantinov, Founder of Bibliothék, says: “The basic idea behind Bibliothék is to create Lidingö's new meeting place, which will be open from early morning to late evening, where it is possible to have breakfast, lunch, dinner, or just have a coffee or a beer. At  Bibliothék you should be able to hang out with friends, have meetings, or bring the children for whom we will also have activities."

Gourmet burger chain, Brödernas, will open its 46th restaurant in Lidingö. The 299 sqm space also features a 234 sqm outdoor terrace.

Jonas Wiklander, Founder, Brödernas, adds: “We are expanding at a furious pace and Lidingö Centrum is a perfect establishment for us, especially next to such an interesting venture as Bibliothék and with a co-working room in the same house.”

Bibliothék plans to open its doors in January and Brödernas aims to open in the autumn of this year.
