Grosvenor, in partnership with Citimark, starts construction this month on a highly-anticipated 68-unit townhome development at the edge of VanDusen Botanical Garden at Oak and 37th. Whitford will transform what was once eight single family lots into a new, higher-density, family-oriented community in the rapidly evolving Oakridge area.
Whitford’s collection of homes feature single level, one-bedroom garden homes up to three-bedroom plus flex townhomes. With 20 homes sold in under two months, it is one of the fastest-selling townhome developments on Vancouver’s west side.
“Grosvenor typically builds townhomes in the context of larger mixed-use developments, but this is such a special location, with its connection to Shaughnessy, VanDusen Garden and its proximity to so many exciting new amenities coming to this neighbourhood, including our own upcoming master-planned community at the former Oakridge Transit Centre called Mayfair West,” said Marc Josephson, Senior Vice President, Development with Grosvenor. “We are excited about this project because we can bring the same quality and focus on design to these ground-oriented homes that you’d find in our larger, master-planned communities.”
Whitford marks the fifth collaboration between Grosvenor and Citimark, a partnership that has spanned nearly two decades and delivered more than 500 homes. Grosvenor’s 70+ year track record in North America includes projects such as Grosvenor Ambleside in West Vancouver and The Pacific in downtown Vancouver. Citimark’s recently completed projects include the award-winning, family-oriented townhome developments, Belle Isle and Ebb & Flow, in North Vancouver.
Unified by a commitment to meticulous craftsmanship and a shared vision for fostering vibrant communities, Grosvenor and Citimark have established themselves as trusted developers of high-quality homes throughout Greater Vancouver.
“We are proud to bring these new townhomes to the market, after more than two decades building homes for families in Metro Vancouver,” said Nelson Chan, President of Citimark. “We value the partnership with Grosvenor, especially on a project that will bring modern, timeless homes in one of the most desirable residential neighborhoods in Vancouver.”
Designed in collaboration with Formwerks Architecture and Ste. Marie Studio, homes at Whitford are inspired by Scandinavian design, with timeless exterior elements, including brick facades and peaked roofs that pay tribute to Shaughnessy’s historical legacy, rooftop terraces and a tree-lined courtyard.
The Whitford name pays homage to Whitford Julian VanDusen, whose generous donation brought the public vision of a thriving botanical greenspace to the city. The site is immediately south of the 50-acre VanDusen Garden, across from Eric Hamber Secondary School and close to transit, the new Oakridge Park shopping centre and Grosvenor’s upcoming master-plan community, Mayfair West.
The presentation centre is located at 2342 Granville Street.
