A regional body bringing together business leaders from national and global organisations across the North West of England has appointed Nicholas Dobbs, Head of Grosvenor Rural Estates, to its board of directors.
Following his appointment to the North West Business Leadership Team (NWBLT) board, Nicholas will share Grosvenor’s expertise as a leading example of sustainability in the rural economy, his experience spearheading the organisation's long term stewardship of its UK rural estates, and insights from delivering lasting economic, social and environmental benefit in the communities where it operates.
The NWBLT is on a mission to shape the future of the North West as the best place to live, work and do good business. Its membership is made up of leaders of businesses with substantial commitments and interests in the region.
In his role, Nicholas leads Grosvenor Rural Estates’ contribution to the economic, social and environmental wellbeing of the communities where it operates in the North West – at Eaton in Cheshire and Abbeystead in Lancashire – and is integral to its business presence in Chester and the wider region.
I am delighted to represent Grosvenor on the NWBLT’s board,” said Nicholas. “The land management practices at our rural estates support the wellbeing of the areas in which they are situated but are also vital to supporting our region’s economy and in how we tackle climate change. I am looking forward to bringing this experience and insight to the board.
Commenting on Nicholas’ appointment, which also saw Kirsty Rogers join the board and Joëlle Warren MBE named as the organisation’s first-ever female Life President, Simone Peppi, NWBLT’s chair, said: “I am delighted to welcome Kirsty and Nicholas to our board. The expertise that they will bring with them, in the legal sector and the land management sector respectively, will be vital as we seek to continue supporting the North West’s economic growth. We are excited for their positive impact on our mission.”
