Challenging assumptions about the sustainability and energy performance of historic properties

Our eco-retrofit of a Victorian cottage will help develop a template for our future refurbishment programme on the Eaton Estate

Our eco-retrofit of a Victorian cottage in Aldford on the Eaton Estate, Cheshire, will reduce its carbon footprint and make it more energy efficient – challenging assumptions about the sustainability and energy performance of historic properties.

By using this knowledge, we will develop a template for our future refurbishment programme, as we work towards net zero carbon.Collaborating with leading experts, we’re aiming to make the property more environmentally and economically sustainable, more compatible with modern family living as well as enhancing biodiversity.
