Community impact

Better farming for the benefit of rural communities.

We see farming as integral to rural communities and their long-term success.

In striving to be a leading example of sustainability within the rural economy, we believe in the importance of delivering lasting benefit, beyond the farm gates, to the communities of which we are part.

We are a significant employer

We are a significant employer in rural Cheshire and ultimately a contributor to the local economy through the employment of more than 70 people across a wide variety of roles which include fertility, calving, calf rearing, animal husbandry, conservation and sustainability specialists, dairy and milking roles, drivers as well as finance and maintenance positions.

In addition to providing fulfilling careers where excellence is promoted and opportunities for further training and development encouraged, we also support new entrants to the industry through an ongoing programme of apprenticeships. We work closely with specialist agricultural colleges to develop new talent as well as provide work experience placements.

Connecting people with the countryside primary

Connecting people with the countryside

Each year, we welcome more than 500 visitors to Grosvenor Farms. They include members of our local communities, the agricultural media, farming groups, universities, agricultural colleges, policy makers and school children.

We passionately believe in the importance for all people, but especially children and those from urban areas, to have a connection with the countryside, the environment, and where our food comes from.

We have a longstanding relationship with national education charity the Country Trust, whose president is the Duke of Westminster, and have been welcoming children on visits to the Eaton Estate and Grosvenor Farms for more than 25 years.

The organisation brings food, farming, and the countryside to life for thousands of children each year, focussing on those living in areas of deprivation, from low-income families, young carers, and newly arrived refugees.

Supporting 50km of footpaths

We support the management of over 50km of public rights of way and permissive access paths across our managed land.

We welcome visitors to use them safely, responsibly, and with respect for other people and the environment.

These routes are available to view via the Cheshire West and Chester Council website.
