Getting involved in your community

Our vision is to create a place for people to live that is more than just a house.

We want to create a thriving, supportive and safe community for all of our tenants, which improves their lives and supports them to achieve their goals.

We want all of our tenants to be active participants in the community and to play their part in supporting their neighbours whenever and in whichever ways they can. We believe that this is what makes a great community.

Our approach is one of collaboration with our tenants, building upon existing and potential skills, experience and opportunities, raising aspirations and ensuring accountability and reward for all.

How to get involved

There are many ways you can get involved in the GHH community:

Developing your GHH Community Commitments

We work with our tenants to look at how they can share their skills and time for the benefit of the GHH community. We know that our tenants often lead busy lives and may only have an hour to spare each week: either way, each person’s contribution is valued and valuable. These commitments might range from a doing some gardening in the communal outdoor space every month to helping another tenant with some DIY or offering another tenant some peer mentoring.

Customer Voice

We want all our tenants to have their voices heard in a fair and equal way. We are developing a range of forums for tenants to give us advice, input into our policies and procedures and help us improve our services. This might be through a residents’ coffee morning or an advisory meeting. We will also collect regular feedback from our customers and publish the results so you can see what our tenants think of us.  We would love for you to get involved- email sian.vanoosten@grosvenor.com

Participating and taking ownership of community activities

We want to encourage our tenants to arrange and take ownership of activities across the community based on their passions and interests.  These could include a street litter pick or putting on a yoga session in our community spaces! Please let us know if you are interested in attending or hosting any community activities.

Looking out for one another

The safety and security of our tenants is our priority, and we expect our tenants to look out for and support one another. For example, this might be helping someone if they are struggling to carry shopping or giving someone a knock on the door to check they are ok if you haven’t seen or heard from them in a while. You can speak to a member of GHH staff for confidential advice on appropriate action or support if something doesn’t feel right.

Respecting the community

We expect all our tenants to respect all members of the GHH community, giving consideration to other people and celebrating the diversity of the community.

We will continue to consult with our tenants to understand how we can create the best environment for you to live and work in.

We know the richness and strength of our community comes from the people who make it up.
